Sent!
I started off wanting to do one story which I hoped would ooze with black humour, but then found that it was hard to make much out of. As briefly mentioned in an earlier blog (god, I hate that word)I was displeased with the lack of surrealism, so I came up with a story which was teeming in bent realism and absurdity. I planned on sending both of them off, abandoned the non-surreal one, then tried it all over again, and abandoned it. So yesterday, I shipped one story, the surreal one off to the magazine in BC. Now, all I can do is sit around and wait for the results.
I really don't know what to expect. I'm hardly one to laud my own work, but I was pretty satisfied with what came out. It's surreal, darkly humorous, and introspective.
I'll mention the results whenever I get updates, but until then, I won't talk about this story or contest.
